Our client a leading industry body, a not-for-profit membership organisation with over 3,000 members across England is currently seeking to appoint a Finance Manager to manage a team of 2 Finance Officer and Finance Assistant.

The Role of Finance Manager
Lead, plan, implement and manage the accounting, finance and investment and related functions to ensure:
the stability of the Association's finances
targets set by the Association Board are met annually in line with the Association Business plan and strategic objectives of the organisation and its future strategic plans.
Work with the Senior Management team to ensure budgetary targets set are understood and met responsibly and in timely fashion.
Report on financial progress regularly to CEO and Board Senior staff as required.

Person Specification
Experience in all aspects of Financial and Management Accounting
Experience of leading, developing and management of a finance and accounting function.
In-depth experience and up to date working knowledge in finance, accounting, budgetary and cash flow management, typically gained after 7 years of working in a finance, accounting or related field preferably with experience at senior level.
Evidence of effective leadership, management and motivation of staff, including goals setting, monitoring targets/outcomes and developing staff.
Experience in procurement, negotiation and management of contracts
Experience of payroll administration and understanding of HR related matters
Knowledge and understanding of investment management
Knowledge and understanding of Corporate Governance & Company Secretary duties, including presenting, advising and working with board of directors
Experience of fixed assets management
Experience of business risk and assurance management
Experience of working with professional advisors such as external auditors, lawyers, etc
Degree or higher/equivalent in business administration, economics, finance, accounting or other related fields with a relevant accounting qualification (or equivalent demonstrable experience)
Membership of professional accounting bodies would be desirable
Evidence of CPD
Up to date working knowledge of HMRC and other UK business regulations
High level of proficiency with accounting software preferably including Xero.
High level of proficiency in the use of IT packages including the Microsoft Office suite and especially Excel.
Knowledge and understanding of CRM systems
Good commercial and business awareness
