Head of Business Architecture

As Head of Business Architecture, you will be responsible for SGN's operating model. Shaping, planning and enabling budgetary approval for any strategic change to the operating model to meet our objectives. You will be responsible for shaping and designing change that will stick once delivered, considering all elements including culture, people, process, competence, technology and data.

  • Supporting the Executive team and business leaders through the development, co-ordination, maintenance and application of all Business and Enterprise Architecture artifacts (competency models, process flows, accountability maps)
  • Delivering change and solution design including business case development to support delivery of the SGN strategy
  • Implementing and managing a multi-lens Process Management capability, encompassing Process Governance, Process Management, Transformational Change, Continuous Improvement and Lean methodology
  • Maintaining integrity of the business operating model, ensuring programmes of change and transformation are coherent and consistent
  • Providing Business Architecture, Business Analysis and Process Improvement services to the Enterprise Portfolio
  • Acting as the custodian of Process improvement practises and application across SGN and acting as head of profession for business architecture and business analysis
  • Supporting the IT leadership team with understanding and improving the IT Operating Model and the engagement model to bring this to the wider business
  • Directly managing FTE and contract business architects and business analysts, building a capable practise to serve SGN's strategic need.
  • Influencing and communicating with stakeholders at all levels

What you'll need

  • Over 10 years of proven experience within change delivery, IT or business systems or related roles
  • A degree in business, information systems or related discipline or equivalent work experience (M.B.A, BA Diploma, PRINCE2 and/or ITIL is an advantage)
  • Sound financial and commercial awareness, understanding budgetary, procurement and legal procedures
  • Highly familiar with Business Architecture methods procedures, standards and tools
  • You are able to coach and motivate teams to deliver results under pressure, challenging and supporting your teams with self-development and keeping up to date with technology
  • You have a high attention to detail and delivering strategic decision making at a senior level
  • You are an advocate for change, leading by example on new change across our operating model
  • You have detailed knowledge of Portfolio and Project Management methods with vast knowledge of the software development and project lifecycle
  • Business consultancy experience, either internal or external
  • Ability to network internally, managing stakeholders at all levels within a day to day and project environment
  • You are able to transform complex information into clear and concise points and deliver this on demand to senior members of the business
  • A broad knowledge of the business, including operational disciplines is desirable.
  • You have high energy and a desire to succeed, confident to challenge and influence where necessary

Occasional travel will be part of this role and a full UK driving license must be held
