We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to lead our English department at a thriving secondary school in Bexley. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Head of English or a passionate teacher looking to take the next step in their career.
Day to Day of the role:
- Lead a highly successful and well-resourced English department.
- Teach English at both KS3 and KS4 levels.
- Collaborate with an approachable and supportive senior leadership team.
- Contribute to the school's exceptional culture that supports both students and staff.
- Develop and implement strategies to further improve the quality of English teaching and learning across the school.
- Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students within the department.
- Ensure that teaching methods are effective and tailored to individual needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A formal teaching qualification with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), such as a PGCE.
- Proven experience in teaching English at KS3 and KS4.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A commitment to continuous professional development.
