Quality Improvement Lead

Location: Medway, Kent

Salary: £31,000 per annum

Are you looking for a 1 year fixed term position to challenge you?

As part of the Governance & Quality Assurance Team, you will be required to work across our community teams to undertake a service wide quality improvement and development role, which will include overseeing regular and cyclical audits of all aspects of service delivery, collating areas of best practice, you will also identify areas of improvement and support the implementation of quality improvement plans and evaluating impact.

What you will be doing?

Collaborating with the Therapeutic Training Team you will assist with structure for training and development of staff in services and compliance with mandatory training requirements.

You will be instrumental in embedding the Forward Trusts learning culture within the services by sharing learning from all incidents, complaints and compliments. By working with staff teams and central services you will assist in developing a system and enhancing the culture of learning with objectives that aim to reduce the likelihood of reoccurrence and increasing the overall quality of service being provided.

In fulfilling these aims the post holder will keep up to date with quality improvement progress across the sector, emerging evidence based practice and new legislation including regulation to include Forward Trust's integrated Governance & Quality Framework, Care Quality Commission Essential standards and regulated inspection model, H&S regulations, Safeguarding Frameworks and service user involvement strategies.

As assigned, will lead or assist in the planning, implementation, monitoring and introduction of quality improvement projects or processes across the services.

What are we looking for?

This role will involve travel between Essex and Medway services and you will need to be available to attend services on a regular basis, so location close to our services would be desireable.

Qualifications

  • Educated to GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths or an equivalent or advanced level.
  • A certificate or formal Governance qualification
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in Social Care and the Drug and Alcohol field. And an understanding of the recovery ethos.
  • Experience of auditing and developing service improvement structures and plans.
  • Track record of driving service improvements & quality leadership.
  • Experience of conducting root cause analysis for the investigation of serious incidents.
  • Experience of dealing with service users and/or significant others and creating appropriate responses.
  • Experience in managing and reviewing incidents and complaints management.

Desirable

  • Experience of working directly with service users and/or significant others.
  • Experience of Office365 as well as other electronic systems relating to data monitoring and case management.
  • Experience of working with commissioners and service regulators.
  • Experience of the CQC Standards and Inspection Model.
  • Experience of training groups with differing needs using a range of styles such as coaching and interactive workshops.
