FJA are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Credit Controller to join their existing team at their Head office based in Leeds to ensuretimely payments from customers and manage the credit control process to minimise bad debt.

Credit Control Responsibilities:

  • Conducting credit checks and setting appropriate credit limits
  • Monitoring customer accounts and identifying overdue payments
  • Chasing outstanding invoices through phone calls and emails
  • Negotiating and agreeing on suitable repayment plans for struggling customers
  • Escalating overdue accounts to the relevant departments for further action
  • Maintaining accurate records of all credit control activities and communication
  • Building internal relationships and external relationships with customers
  • Generating reports on accounts receivable and debtor aging
  • Reconciling accounts and ensuring the accuracy of financial records

Successful Credit Controller:

  • Previous experience as a Credit Controller
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong negotiation skills: Negotiating repayment plans and credit terms that are favourable to both the company and the customer
  • Problem Solving skills: Identifying and resolving issues related to late payments and invoice discrepancies
  • Time management and organisational skills: Prioritising tasks, meeting deadlines, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software
