Our client, a hugely impressive market leader, with a reputation for providing a positive and development-focused culture, is looking to hire a credible and ambitious Senior Finance Manager to join its ranks. You'll be responsible for ensuring the success of this growing business-unit, by providing strong control support and value-adding analysis and insight to aid decision making.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a c£400m turnover business unit, that has high visibility and exposure to the SLT. The goal is for this person to reach Head of Finance level within 18 month - 2 years.
The ideal candidate is someone with a strong foundation in accounting and controls within a complex and fast-paced environment, as well as finance business partnering, looking to leverage both skill sets and develop their career further. The business operates a hybrid model, c3 days in the office.
Main duties include:
- Producing management accounts for the BU, effectively articulating key drivers for sales and margin variances against both budget and previous year
- Analyse the impact of product and channel mix, highlighting significant trends
- Oversee balance sheet accounts, implementing robust controls and developing a thorough understanding of risks and opportunities
- Acting as a the finance lead in business projects, ensuring any impacts to the process are fully understood
- Managing and developing one Finance Analyst, providing coaching and guidance
- Liaising with audit teams
- Presenting key metrics to Senior Management at operational review meetings, providing insightful analysis and interpretation of financial data to aid decision making
- Contributing to the budgeting and forecasting process, developing and refining of financial projections and plans for the BU
Key skills and experience required:
- Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Confident working with complex balance sheets
- Capable of influencing and building relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Advanced Excel
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Enthusiastic and inquiring mind
- Well organised, flexible and able to operate in a fast paced environment
- Proactive and positive approach to problem solving
