The School
A large secondary school in Gloucester with a resource base. The resource base is staffed by SEND teaching assistants and there is a low pupil-to-adult ratio, ensuring individual children's additional needs are met.
The school has ample parking with some public transport links.
The Role
You will be working in the resource base, supporting students work towards individual targets. Targets will focus no pupils' social and emotional development as well as their academic progress. You will be working one-to-one, and with small groups. As an experienced TA, part of the role involves supporting and mentoring less experienced TAs.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group support to students who have additional needs
- Preparing recourses and maintaining the learning environment
- Support and mentor less experienced TAs
Essential Criteria
- HLTA qualification
- At least 2 years experience working with young people
- Good level of spoken and written English
- Access to a car and a valid driving license
- Ability to work in a team
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience working with young people who have SEND/SEMH needs
- SEND qualification
