European Finance Manager - Hybrid working

Global Health and Wellness company are looking for a experienced Finance Manager to lead the European Accounting Functions. Hybrid working - 3 days a week in the office, 2 remote

You will be continually improving procedures, processes, and systems enabling the company to meet operational, reporting and statutory audit requirements. The candidate will manage the US and Local GAAP accounting functions as well as all tax reporting. The Finance Manager will support banking and vendor relationships, as well as leading the European annual budget and monthly forecast processes and assist the General Manager with assessment of proposed initiatives and investments.

This is a unique position offering greater breadth and career opportunity than traditional accounting roles. The Finance Manager reports to the US-based International Accounting Manager, and with high visibility to the Corporate Controller, Sr Director of FP&A, and the CFO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct the preparation of the market's financial processes, filings, statements and reports in compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles with conversion to local GAAP for statutory reporting purposes.
  • Contribute financial expertise to various functions, special projects and analysis to support strategic initiatives.
  • Develop, maintain and coordinate corporate accounting policies including considerations for nuances related to the local markets.
  • Prepare or oversee all local accounting and finance functions (GL, AP, Cash, etc.)
  • Manage local audits as required and support the global consolidated audit as necessary.
  • Assist in the valuation, control, reporting and management of inventory
  • Review staff expense report as per company policies and obtain necessary approvals
  • Assist in the creation and management of the budget and monthly forecast with the GM
  • Be proactive in identifying and achieving process improvements
  • Ownership of the European region trial balances
  • Ensure postings are accurate and timely.
  • Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations completed and reconciling items cleared timely.
  • Prepare appropriate supporting schedules for all balance sheet accounts.
  • Understand business results and trends.
  • Meet with GM to review overall market financials monthly.
  • Assess impact of promotions, events, and other business initiatives as applicable.
  • Identify and monitor appropriate KPIs.
  • Anticipate opportunities and risks for business operations.

Person Specification

  • 8 years of progressive experience in an accounting or finance role working with business financials and experience in a management role.
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Understanding of costing accounting principles.
  • Strong International experience.
  • Professional experience in network marketing or health and wellness industry.
  • Experience with DAX software.
