Innovation Knowledge & Insight Manager

The Role

As Innovation Knowledge and Insight Manager, you will promote and share insights relatedto innovation within our capital programme across partner organisations. Your role will involve designing metrics, conducting evaluations, and generating actionable insights that refine our innovation strategy to align with the goals of UU.

You will support the Chief Engineer (Innovation and Carbon) and the Engineering Programme Manager by tracking innovation activities and assessing benefits across the Capital Delivery, Engineering, and Commercial business area. Your contributions will enhance our innovation delivery processes and collaboration efforts while generating high-quality reports on innovation performance for internal and external stakeholders. You will drive our dissemination strategy, ensuring that learnings from our projects and partners are effectively shared across sectors. Additionally, you will serve as the communications lead for Engineering Innovation, ensuring relevant information reaches stakeholders efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture and share innovation insights from water companies, partners, and other industries, while co-ordinating forums to gather and exchange ideas.
  • Track and evaluate innovation performance and metrics, ensuring efficient delivery of innovation projects across the capital programme.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, promoting innovation and ensuring effective knowledge transfer and communication.
  • Use analytical and scouting skills to identify trends, technologies, and best practices, helping teams make informed decisions and optimie resource allocation.
  • Lead communication and content creation efforts to promote innovation stories internally and externally, while managing knowledge and insight teams to influence and support these initiatives.

Skills & Experience:

  • Qualified with relevant industry experience, demonstrating resilience, leadership, and a track record of driving results and fostering strong partnerships in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent communication, persuasion, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
  • Proficient in digital communication tools and ability to taoilor impactful messages to different stakeholder groups
  • Experience in generating metrics and reports to track innovation and associated benefits across a major capital programme
  • Hold a current UK/EU driving licence.
