Controls System Engineer

Remote / Hybrid - Occasional visit to office in Powys AND travel to the US

£50,000 - £65,000 + Travel expenses and costs covered.

£20 bonus for every overnight stay added onto salary, 24 days plus bank holidays, Nest pension scheme, Employee Assistance Programme, Complimentary Life Insurance policy.

We are a recognized supplier and manufacturer of a wide range of automated and manual packaging machinery. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and work in a globally growing business. The right candidate will be required to produce PLC and robot programs and HMI systems from a programming and technical perspective.

We are looking for a Control System Engineer / Programming Engineer to assist our US partner in developing their range by specifying the controls and programming the system. You will be responsible for your own projects delivering "cradle to grave" controls system engineering by designing concept solutions and providing the layout architecture of PLC control systems.

Experience / Skills

  • Relevant industry experience with special purpose machinery relating to the Material Handling systems i.e conveyors, palletizers, packaging etc
  • Proficient with Allen Bradley PLC & Fanuc Robotics
  • Skilled in PLC / HMI & Robot programming
  • FAT / SAT
  • Expertise in installation and commissioning
  • Ability to interpret customers' requirements to ensure designs are aligned to user requirements.
  • Experience of integrating robotics into automated solution
  • Good understanding of engineering principles in Control System design

Qualifications

  • Qualification in Electrical / electronic / Software Engineering – HND / Degree / relevant
  • Desirable candidates would have previous experience working with Fanuc Robots and Allen Bradley PLC

In return

My client is willing to pay up to £65,000 for the ideal candidate. You will receive a laptop, mobile, uniform, pension, and health insurance as well as all costs and expenses covered for travel to and from US. As well as this a £20 bonus will be included in your salary for every overnight stay.
