Delivery Manager

At K3 Capital Group we're undergoing a transformation of our IT function, a combination of insourcing infrastructure services and building bespoke applications (including no/low code). A particular focus includes data services and driving business process efficiencies through automation / digitisation.

To support this we have created a brand new position as Delivery Manager, responsible for the project management of IT and Business Change initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of projects to time, cost and quality, ensuring changes are fully embedded and agreed benefits met.
  • Lead projects and work requests throughout the life cycle, including transition to live operation, and effectively interact with multiple stakeholders - Third-party partners, Product Managers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Operations, Legal / Compliance and Technology teams.
  • Lead the collaborative and dynamic planning process – prioritising work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team. Ensuring the correct resources are in plan to deliver each sprint or milestone.
  • Works with Business Analysts to transform stakeholder needs into well-defined use cases that stakeholders can fully understand and leverage to create design requirements.
  • Challenge and drive key stakeholders to make decisions on priorities.
  • Facilitate decision-making, issue resolution and consensus among cross-functional teams with full understanding of time / cost / scope impacts.
  • Be accountable for your delivery ensuring the right balance between cost, time & quality are achieved in line with business plan assumptions, remove barriers where required.
  • Introduce new tools and/or methodology / frameworks where required.
  • Promote use of agile techniques across the business.
  • Implement an effective reporting cycle, working with the teams to drive high quality reporting in a timely manner.
  • Manages key third party partners to ensure delivery of projects to time, budget and quality.

Reporting, relationships & management

  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on project / work request objectives, critical tasks, milestones and dependencies.
  • Provide effective project progress updates to key stakeholders both written and verbally.
  • Able to capture and articulate benefits associated with each delivery.
  • Works closely with any required third party partners, establishing effective partnerships and well defined ways of working.

Qualifications & experience

Essential

  • Previous commercial experience as a Project Manager, Business Change Manager or similar, delivering projects affecting business operations. Ideally in a professional services / business advisory environment.
  • Working in a matrix management environment, directing work for members of other teams.
  • Demonstrable track record of managing delivery in a fast-paced business.
  • Management of software procurement projects.
  • Experience of managing onsite, remote teams and external suppliers.
  • Stakeholder management – risk and issue resolution.
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of project budget management and cost control.
  • Experience of risk management and mitigation techniques.
  • Experience of IT change management.
  • Experience of programme planning, able to contribute to planning overall programmes and providing suggestions for framework improvement.
  • Resiliency – be able to deal with changing circumstances and challenging situations whilst still achieving objectives.

Desirable

  • Prince2 or equivalent qualification.
  • Analytical approach to problem solving combined with commercial awareness.
  • Agile / Scrum experience.
  • Knowledge of CRM tools.
  • Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Trello, Microsoft Project.

This role is aligned to our hybrid workstyle, predominantly based from home with travel to the Bolton office 1-2 days per week and potentially other UK offices such as London on an infrequent basis.
