Butler Rose is working with our large FTSE250 client in their search for a Data Migration Lead to join their Team. This is a minimum of a three month contract with the opportunity to be extended to six months and will pay a PAYE day rate depending on experience. This is a remote role with occasional travel to their Northampton/London offices.
The role will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful completion of data migration within the project. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of data transferred from legacy systems to new platforms or environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Migration Strategy: Develop strategies and plans aligned with project goals.
- Requirements Gathering: Understand data migration needs, including mapping, transformation, and validation.
- Data Profiling and Analysis: Assess data quality and suitability for migration.
- Data Mapping and Transformation: Define mapping rules and transformation logic.
- Execution and Monitoring: Lead migration activities, coordinate ETL processes, and monitor progress.
- Data Quality Assurance: Implement checks and validation for data accuracy.
- Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain migration documentation and provide status updates.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate migration risks.
- Post-Migration Support: Assist with data reconciliation and issue resolution.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in leading data migration or management projects.
- Strong knowledge of data migration concepts and best practices.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, ETL tools).
- Expertise in data mapping, transformation, and validation.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field certifications in data management or project management are a plus.
