Salary circa £40,000, plus pension, 26 days holiday, cycle to work scheme

Join this dynamic Quality department as a Quality Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role across all business units and departments. Your primary responsibilities will include managing processes, standardizing metrics, and mentoring employees on quality basics. You will also ensure compliance for Build to Print or Design Make contracts, collaborating with customers and internal stakeholders.

In addition to the main responsibilities, you may be required to support the business with additional ad hoc duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 Rev D/9001:2015, relevant specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Update and maintain quality procedures and supporting documents.
  • Use methodologies like 5 Whys to lead Root Cause Investigations.
  • Collaborate across departments for day-to-day quality management.
  • Address and solve daily quality issues.
  • Engage with suppliers and customers as needed.
  • Support the completion of monthly KPIs against established targets.
  • Ensure a standardised approach within the quality team.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Conduct supplier and internal quality audits.
  • Provide hands-on support with inspections and laboratory tasks.
  • Create work instructions for consistent inspection techniques.
  • Lead quality assurance controls in process areas.
  • Mentor employees on AS9100 Rev D requirements.
  • Support or lead on-site calibration activities.

Key Skills:

  • Experienced in Quality Engineering.
  • Proficient with AS9100 Rev D / ISO9001:2015 standards is desirable
  • Knowledgeable about AS9102 FAIR requirements.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Familiar with conventional inspection equipment.
  • Experienced in 8D problem-solving.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Suite.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • 8D Training.
  • Proficiency with CMM inspection equipment and other technologies.
  • Lean Six Sigma Knowledge.
