Manufacturing Engineer

This role will focus on:

In this role, you will be managing the development and implementation of a new range of single-use products, a core component of the product range of single-use solutions. As part of a dedicated team of engineers, you will collaborate closely with Product Management, design, and Production to oversee project execution and support high-quality product delivery. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the company continue to provide world-class service that meets the demanding needs of the biopharma and medical device industries.

Key Accountabilities Include:

  • Be responsible for process development of new products.
  • Researching bioprocessing manufacturing technologies and processes.
  • Create technical documentation for the products in line with the NPI governance process including technical files and project design and development records.
  • Create prototypes for testing in collaboration with Design Engineering and work together to determine appropriate testing and process validation plans.
  • Record and analyse data arising from product development testing and provide summaries/conclusions to the project team.
  • Work with local and global validation teams to ensure the products are fully validated according to industry standards.
  • Contribute to product cost and pricing discussions
  • Work closely with the operations teams to troubleshoot any technical issues during planning and manufacture of the products.
  • Monitor and track progress within the team to be able to report KPIs in daily SDT meetings.
  • Oversee and assess current processes and workflows, optimising productivity by designing, implementing, and testing new procedures.
  • Continually evaluate equipment and processes to maintain high efficiency and quality standards.
  • Manage the transfer and procurement of new production equipment, facilitating their introduction and supporting system integration.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Ideally experience within development of biopharmaceutical processing components and single-use systems.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead multidisciplinary teams within projects.
  • Qualification in Engineering and/or qualified by experience.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Effective of managing a variety of stakeholders with varied priorities.
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience of process validation and validation life cycle is advantageous although not essential.
