About the Role

Base Location: Perth Training Centre

Salary: £40,600 - £61,000 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

Are you an experienced professional in Hydro, Wind, or Thermal authorisations who would love to share your expertise to train and develop others? We have a fantastic opportunity available in our Learning & Talent team for someone with strong technical experience and a passion for developing people. SSE will provide you with all the development you'll need to become a qualified Trainer/Assessor. This role supports the development of teams within our SSE Renewables and SSE Thermal businesses, which are leading developers and operators of renewable energy, with growth ambitions to treble our renewable energy output by 2030.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating training and conducting assessments to ensure our people have the technical knowledge and skills to support safe and effective operations.
  • Assisting with the development of training content to ensure it is aligned with current rules, procedures, and best working practices.
  • Planning the delivery of training plans and content across the UK that meets the needs of our customers.
  • Providing advice and guidance as a technical expert on the implementation of operational procedures, engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Delivering training to support both new employees and upskilling and assuring the competence of existing employees and contract partners, as part of a continual review cycle for authorisations.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Recently held Hydro, Wind, or Thermal authorisations up to, and ideally including Senior Authorised Person, coupled with knowledge of the SSoW and Global Wind Rules used in the UK.
  • While experience in coaching others, teaching, and assessing would be advantageous, we'll provide the development to achieve Level 3 qualifications in Training and Assessing if you hold the required technical and communication skills.
  • A recognised safety qualification, or the ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of UK Safety Regulations would be beneficial.
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to deliver engaging and inclusive learning environments for our diverse workforce.
