Location: London with occasional business requirements in Milton Keynes - Fully on site.

Salary: Up to £40,000

Job Description:

Join our amazing client, in a dynamic role as an IS Support Specialist, providing 2nd / 3rd Line Support and Systems Administration across two UK manufacturing sites. You'll be immersed in a diverse Windows / Linux environment, showcasing your expertise in virtualisation and networking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of incidents from initiation to resolution, demonstrating unparalleled troubleshooting skills across various technical domains.
  • Provide comprehensive Application Support, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting both onsite and remotely via phone, email, and instant messaging.
  • Manage virtualisation environments, particularly VMWare, and confidently troubleshoot SQL performance issues in SQL Server.
  • Support Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems on mixed server platforms, with proficiency in Linux/Unix System Administration (Redhat, CentOS).
  • Conduct advanced Networking and Infrastructure Troubleshooting and Diagnostics, encompassing DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and Firewalls.
  • Apply ITIL methodology principles, with certifications considered advantageous.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced technological environment, delivering under pressure with precision.

Required Skills:

  • Outstanding troubleshooting ability, driven by a passion for resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Extensive experience in Application Support and Systems Administration.
  • Strong knowledge of VMWare virtualisation and SQL Server.
  • Proficiency in Windows with exposure to Linux/Unix (Redhat, CentOS).
  • Advanced Networking skills with DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and Firewalls.
  • Familiarity with ITIL methodology.

Non-Essential But Highly Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience supporting air gapped networks.
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible for infrastructure as code.
  • Linux/Unix System Administration skills (RedHat, Ubuntu).
  • Knowledge of PCI CPP standards.
  • Experience with deployment tools like MDT and WDS.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years in a relevant role.
