An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join our Active Travel Team. This role is pivotal in supporting the borough's ambitions to foster a cleaner, greener, and healthier environment. The focus will be on managing the impacts of the growth in dockless e-bike hire schemes and expanding services to encourage broader participation in active travel, with an emphasis on cycling and walking.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage relationships and contracts with hire bike operators.
- Oversee the project management of the rollout of hire bike parking bays.
- Engage with Transport for London (TfL) and London Councils on London-wide contract development.
- Handle issues with operators efficiently.
- Address complex correspondence with council members and the public.
- Prepare and present detailed reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in project management, preferably within local authority or transport sectors.
- Strong relationship management skills with the ability to manage contracts effectively.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Ability to handle complex correspondence and report writing.
- Experience in managing public sector projects, particularly those related to active travel, is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Transport for London (TfL) and London Councils' operations would be beneficial.
