Role Overview
As a Bid Writer at Plug Me In, you will lead our bid writing and management efforts, creating compelling and strategic bids that align with our Public Sector Strategy. This role is central to building a strong project pipeline, supporting our growth objectives, and ensuring we meet grant funding and commercial delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Bid Management: Lead end-to-end tender submissions for commercial and public sector opportunities, including bid writing, pricing, and final submissions.
- Content Development: Craft persuasive, tailored bid documents and maintain a library of standard answers to streamline future submissions.
- Market Insight: Track and analyse trends in bid criteria with a focus on social value, technical requirements, and accreditations.
- Performance Analysis: Monitor bid outcomes to identify improvements and optimize future submissions.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with technical, legal, and financial teams to ensure accurate and timely submission of bids.
- Representation: Represent Plug Me In at industry events, raising brand visibility and building key partnerships.
What We're Looking For
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field (Essential).
- Proven success in bid writing for commercial and public sector projects, ideally with experience in the retrofit sector.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial and public sector renewable energy opportunities, including regulatory frameworks, funding mechanisms (e.g., PSDF), and best practices.
- Knowledge of renewable products (e.g., solar PV, air source heat pumps, batteries, EV charging points).
- A strong understanding of social value and ability to demonstrate this in bid submissions.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and email.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Adaptable, self-motivated, and enthusiastic about making a positive impact.
Other Requirements
- Willingness to travel to the Manchester or Wigan office 1 / 2 days a week.
- Eligibility to work in the UK, with successful completion of a basic criminal record check.
- Ability to provide references covering the last five years.
Package
- Basic annual salary of up to £45,000
- Hybrid working pattern; 3 days work from home.
