Merchandiser

We have an excellent opportunity for a Merchandiser to join the team of an award-winning independent home interior brands based in Bracknell, Berkshire. This is a six month contract.

About the role As a Merchandiser you will primarily ensure the correct levels of stock across the business, working closely with the buying team to forecast and plan new and continuity products. You will hold responsibility for a product area ensuring the most commercially strong range is launched, analysing performance and pushing for growth.

Key responsibilities:

  • Pull together analysis at a SKU & attribute level for Monday Trade, Lessons Learnt, Signs Offs & Adhoc
  • Review current range to identify gaps and opportunities
  • Work with the buying team to formulate the range for the new season
  • Use initiative to create analysis where needed, providing suggestions and actions
  • Work within set stock and container budgets to ensure optimum stock levels are met across the business and lead times to customers are managed
  • Forecasting and raising orders at container level
  • Make suggestions on discontinuations and promotional activity
  • Control prices changes where needed to clear stocks
  • Liaise with suppliers in the Far East and Europe to send POs and any forecasting or queries
  • Raise the profile of the Merchandising team within the business
  • Continue to build on the strong relationships cross departmentally
  • Support more junior members of the team – providing training and development where needed
  • Help the Merchandise Manager/Senior Merchandiser with any tasks needed and to cover when they are not available
  • Displaying a passion for Home products and a good awareness of the current market & key competitors
  • Inputting into the overall strategy for the area, working closely alongside the buying team
  • Provide analysis and data to the Merchandise Manager to assist with the compilation of the company financial budget
  • Identify and suggest new processes that could aid the efficiency and effectiveness of the Merchandising team

About the rewards The role of Merchandiser is a full-time role working 4 days from the Bracknell office and 1 day from home and you will receive:

  • A salary of circa £40,000 per annum, pro rata
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pro rata

About you To be successful for the role of Merchandiser, you'll have the following experience, personal skills and attributes:

  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Knowledge of the end to end buy process
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills with demonstrable ability to use Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong numerical, analytical and interpretive skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Ability to initiate and build strong relationships both external and internal
  • Great attention to detail and exceptionally organized
  • Capable of embracing the challenges of working in a small but rapidly growing company environment
  • Great presentation skills – experience of presenting large volumes of data confidently
