The Role
Reporting to the CFO, as part of a rapidly growing multi-site business, the Finance Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects and activities of the finance function.
This is a hands-on role and will take on some human resources tasks.
Responsibilities
- Preparing accurate monthly management accounts for review
- Preparing commentary and variance analysis of the monthly management packs
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintaining a 13-week cashflow forecast
- Maintaining the fixed assets including depreciation, additions, and disposals
- Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
- Preparing and processing the monthly payroll accurately
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with the operations teams to support with the day to day running
- Checking the accuracy and approving invoices
- Preparing and raising the monthly pay runs
- Inputting purchase invoices accurately onto the system
- Requesting quotes and raising purchase orders
- Setting up new suppliers and customers on the finance system
- Bank reconciliation
- Raising sales invoices and repeating invoice templates
- Chasing any outstanding customer debt
- Preparing and managing employee contracts
- Holiday record management
Desirable
- Newly qualified or in the final stages of becoming a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
- Previous experience of producing monthly management accounts
- Confident and competent user of Excel and accountancy systems
- Confident, willing and able to pick up a new assignment quickly, including adhoc tasks, whilst continuing to managing BAU
- Previous experience of working in an SME environment with an appreciation of the need to be flexible and agile
- Strong team player with a high level of resilience
