Finance Manager

The Role

Reporting to the CFO, as part of a rapidly growing multi-site business, the Finance Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects and activities of the finance function.

This is a hands-on role and will take on some human resources tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing accurate monthly management accounts for review
  • Preparing commentary and variance analysis of the monthly management packs
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintaining a 13-week cashflow forecast
  • Maintaining the fixed assets including depreciation, additions, and disposals
  • Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
  • Preparing and processing the monthly payroll accurately
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with the operations teams to support with the day to day running
  • Checking the accuracy and approving invoices
  • Preparing and raising the monthly pay runs
  • Inputting purchase invoices accurately onto the system
  • Requesting quotes and raising purchase orders
  • Setting up new suppliers and customers on the finance system
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Raising sales invoices and repeating invoice templates
  • Chasing any outstanding customer debt
  • Preparing and managing employee contracts
  • Holiday record management

Desirable

  • Newly qualified or in the final stages of becoming a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
  • Previous experience of producing monthly management accounts
  • Confident and competent user of Excel and accountancy systems
  • Confident, willing and able to pick up a new assignment quickly, including adhoc tasks, whilst continuing to managing BAU
  • Previous experience of working in an SME environment with an appreciation of the need to be flexible and agile
  • Strong team player with a high level of resilience
