Operations Manager

- Job Type: Full-time - 37 hours per week
- Salary: £40k
We are seeking an Operations Manager to oversee the efficient, safe, and legally compliant day-to-day operations of the Council's assets, vehicles, land, and facilities. This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing a clean, pleasant, and safe environment throughout the community. The successful candidate will manage small projects, community wardens, and the Parish Guardian Scheme, ensuring all operations align with the Council's policies and procedures.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage and monitor the day-to-day operations of the Council's assets, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Supervise the Community Wardens and volunteers, ensuring adherence to the Council's health and safety policies.
- Manage contracts, conduct asset reviews, and oversee facility usage.
- Develop and implement business plans and performance indicators for the Council's assets.
- Handle procurement and contracting for operational aspects of the Council's activities.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with external organisations to manage community facilities.
- Attend Council's Operations Committee meetings and other relevant meetings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven track record in managing assets and facilities, including contractor management.
- Experience in staff management, including setting performance targets and staff motivation.
- Strong understanding of health and safety and security principles.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in business IT packages such as MS365.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
- GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English, with evidence of continuous professional development.
