Disability Assessor

We are currently recruiting for a Disability Assessor in West Malling and we are inviting invitations from Registered Nurses (RGN, RMN and RNLD) Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Paramedics who enjoy being challenged professionally but also want to balance work and personal life

You will play a crucial role in the disability assessment process, a service that touches the lives of millions of people in the UK.

You will work autonomously in a hybrid role to assess the cases of people who are applying for the PIP benefit. These people are living with conditions which impact their daily life, and you will be empathetic to their situation, whilst obtaining the facts required for your assessment.

You do not need to have worked as a Disability Assessor previously, we can support you in your career change with our accredited training programme and dedicated support from the management team.

Responsibilities

  • Speaking with people making a claim for the PIP benefit and working to assess a variety of complex conditions and impairments.
  • Using your strong verbal communication skills and write high quality, fair and accurate assessment reports using a special IT system.

Working with your line manager to advance your own professional development and career as a Disability Assessor

Essential requirements

  • Minimum of 12 months experience working as an RGN, RMN, RNLD, Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist.
  • You must hold full registration with one of the following professional bodies:

Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)

Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC),
