Head of Procurement - M&E Infrastructure Programmes

Forward thinking and Innovative M&E infrastructure business is looking for a Head of Procurement to manage the organisations growing procurement function. Ideal candidate will come from an M&E procurement background and will have worked on large scale infrastructure projects across rail, tunnelling, highways, nuclear etc, bringing a wealth of experience and having a proven track record in this field. You will be responsible for the design and implementation of a new procurement strategy, working closely with the commercial director to develop short/mid/long term plans for the next 5-10yrs. You will develop efficient, compliant and improved procurement processes and systems to support the wider business across bids, work winning opportunities and commercial post contract management. The successful applicant will be focused on ensuring that the procurement processes throughout the buying team maximise value for money, increase margins though competitive pricing and utilise effective supplier relationships across the M&E field.

The Head of Procurement will further provide clear guidance to the Executive Leadership Team on all strategy and operational matters relating to the Procurement function.

Key Areas & Skills -

  • To manage the M&E supply chain for maximisation of profit/delivery of performance in order to achieve value for money, service & quality
  • To work closely with the commercial team on the resolution of disputes with sub-contractors and customers
  • To promote the importance of procurement best practice across the company.
  • Responsible for the management of a high performing team within the procurement department
  • Responsible for the timely delivery of key HR activities including annual salary reviews, appraisals, talent and succession planning, hiring etc
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process for all procurement employees.
  • Lead the procurement team and ensure that effective, collaborative and ethical relationships are formed with all suppliers
  • Have an in depth understanding of all information security projects, policies and procedures
  • Oversees and ensures that direct reports receive governance training on all information security policies and procedures
  • Honours degree or equivalent/qualified purchasing professional (MCIPS)
  • This role will be predominantly based in London with regular site visits
