Engineering Manager - Electronics

About the Role:
Join my Clients Power Electronics design centre as an Engineering Manager, leading a dynamic team to develop scalable, cost-effective, and manufacturable power electronics technology.
You will need to be a proven, strong leader of technical design teams of between 10 & 20 skilled engineers, to drive innovation and standardization across multiple business units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct a team of engineers to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and report on team and project performance, fostering a performance-based culture.
  • Coach and mentor team members, enhancing technical capabilities.
  • Support the Divisional Director in strategy development and execution.
  • Collaborate with engineering and business leaders to drive technology adoption and design methodologies.
  • Promote engineering excellence within the Power design team and business units.

Qualifications:

  • BSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in electronics design and product development.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience.
  • Proven leadership skills and technical expertise.
  • Strong project management and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills and adapt to new industries or products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience in power electronics design, especially for safety-critical applications.
  • Broad knowledge of power electronics, including topology, circuits, thermal management, control, and firmware.
  • Understanding of compliance standards (e.g., MIL standards).
  • Experience in diverse cultural settings with global teams.
  • Design for Six Sigma certification.

  • Collaborative and ethical, with a desire to drive innovation.

Other:
Up to 15% domestic and international travel is required.
Early finish on Friday
Hybrid working available (dependent on project and workload - min 3 days on-site p/w)
