Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for Projects M&E Procurement Manager to join our passionate and driven team based at our client's site in Edinburgh.

Reporting to the Head of Hard Services Procurement and supporting Regional Directors , the Projects M&E Procurement Manager role is a critical supporting role and the ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' experience in a senior management position and a proven track record in a similar environment, the successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Procurement and the Projects Pre – Construction, Estimating & Operational Teams to thoroughly understand the procurement strategy and process, be responsible for supporting bids at tender stage and procuring materials, equipment and services necessary to support client deliverables throughout the Project Delivery Phase. Additionally, they will build and maintain strong relationships with our supply chain partners and be responsible for evaluating suppliers, products and services, negotiating supplier agreements, maximise individual & group buying opportunity, report and manage data, whilst driving best value for the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Functional

  • Facilitate regular meetings between The Pre – Construction, Estimating, Operations and Procurement Teams for alignment of business deliverables.
  • Attend Projects Estimation Handover Meetings and review opportunities to consolidate purchasing across individual & multiple sites.
  • Liaise with the wider procurement team and attend procurement meetings as required.
  • Converting requisitions raised by the Operations Team to purchase orders and issuing to suppliers after completing price check analysis / buying process whilst recording all associated data.
  • Conducting research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality.
  • Identifying potential new suppliers and building and maintaining good relationships with them.
  • Negotiating supplier agreements and monitoring their progress checking the quality of service provided.
  • Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities.
  • Producing monthly reports and statistics, demonstrating purchasing trends and maximising buying opportunities.
  • Evaluating bids and making recommendations based on historical data & commercial factors.
  • Arranging supplier review meetings with agendas, creating minutes and ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives, pipeline and associated opportunity.
  • Uploading new M&E products onto the database and maintain accuracy of the existing list of inventories including but not limited to fit rates and net prices.
  • Understand clear security requirements for intended client and only quote those vendors
  • Able to manipulate data to show best options based upon pricing data, and historical performance metrics.
  • Review historical information to build a robust process for future improvement
  • Training and supervising the work of other members of staff.
  • Support the business in any way necessary as appropriate when requested by Directors or Management

Core Expectations

  • Experience in a senior management position in a similar environment
  • M&E Technical and /or Operational Background
  • Detailed Knowledge of the commercial mechanical and electrical building services industry and markets.
  • Have extensive supply chain contacts and relationships.
  • Able to manipulate and analyse data to report back in a useable format to support the needs of the procurement team.
  • Ability to identify financial benefits from data analyses.
  • Fast paced, customer service-based organisations, ideally in the FM / Projects sector
