Do you have experience in process development and upstream processing? We have an exciting opportunity available with a biotechnology company in Cambridge. Our client is looking to onboard a new scientist with prior industry experience who is ready to hit the ground running in a process development role.

The Role

As a scientist within the upstream process development team, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and optimising processes to ensure the successful manufacturing of DNA products,
  • Scaling up R&D upstream processes into larger scale manufacturing,
  • Operations including DNA synthesis & filtration, gel electrophoresis, and consumable management,
  • Maintaining QMS documentation and creating / updating SOPs,
  • Independently carrying out experimental troubleshooting.

Skills and Experience Needed

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Prior industry experience within upstream processing (essential)
  • Expertise within process development (essential)
  • BSc / MSc / equivalent work experience in a biological discipline (essential)
  • Existing UK work eligibility (essential)
  • Experience working within a highly regulated environment - such as GMP, ISO, GLP, GCP (essential)
  • Previous laboratory experience with molecular biology techniques - such as DNA / RNA handling, gel electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE (essential)
  • Prior experience working within a QMS and writing / updating SOPs (desirable)
