Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a dynamic maintenance team to ensure the Hospital is maintained to the highest standards.
  • Provide a customer-facing and highly responsive maintenance service to the site.
  • Carry out a wide range of reactive and planned maintenance tasks to a meticulous standard.
  • Offer technical guidance, assistance, and information to other members of the maintenance team.
  • Complete training to fulfill Authorised Person duties.
  • Demonstrate multi-skilling and flexibility to meet the demands of the role.
  • Report to the maintenance supervisor and provide regular updates on work in progress and completed tasks.

Key Requirements:

  • Proficient in maintenance, repairs, testing, and inspection of building, mechanical, and electrical services, as well as associated systems, plant, and equipment, following relevant standards and operational procedures.
  • Qualified time served engineer with minimum 3 years post apprenticeship experience required, Healthcare experience desirable but not essential, Cross-trade experience advantageous.
  • Willingness to provide cover for absent colleagues to ensure continuity of service.
  • Adherence to safe working practices within statutory, NHS, Trust, and Company guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain, service, and repair various building services, including heating and domestic water services, general electrical services, air handling units, low voltage electrical distribution systems, emergency standby generating plants, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, electrical control systems, and building management systems.
  • Familiarity with operational procedures and safe working practices of major plant and systems.
  • Strong record-keeping skills and ability to complete service reports accurately.
  • Willingness to occasionally assist with installation work related to minor upgrading and adaptation projects.
  • Capacity to collaborate with other skilled tradespeople to carry out maintenance, repairs, testing, inspection, and installation work.
