This pivotal role is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating effective learning and development (L&D) programmes to enhance the skills, knowledge, and performance of employees across the organisation.

I'm recruiting for an experienced and strategic National Learning and Development Manager. This pivotal role is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating effective learning and development (L&D) programmes to enhance the skills, knowledge, and performance of employees across the organisation.

The post-holder will also manage the deployment and ongoing utilisation of the Cornerstone Learning Management System (LMS) and oversee the Learning and Skills Project Lead, ensuring that L&D solutions are aligned with business objectives and strategy.

The role will involve National Travel from Plymouth to Edinburgh. You will based at Head Office in Leicester. This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days either at sites or Head Office and 2 days working from home.

Description

  • Develop and execute a national Learning and Development strategy in line with organisational goals.
  • Identify key learning priorities based on business needs and workforce capabilities.
  • Design, implement, and oversee a range of training programmes including e-learning, workshops, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Manage the development of bespoke training solutions tailored to department-specific needs.
  • Oversee the effective deployment and use of the LMS across the organisation.
  • Provide training and support to users to maximise engagement with the system's features.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to assess learning needs and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Manage the L&D budget, ensuring cost-effective delivery of training initiatives.
  • Establish and track KPIs to assess the impact of L&D programmes, providing reports to senior management.
  • Ensure all training complies with industry standards, legal requirements, and company policies.

Profile

A successful National Learning and Development Manager should have:

  • Proven experience in a senior L&D role within a national or multi-site organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of L&D strategies, tools, and methodologies.
  • Experience managing a Learning Management System.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Knowledge of digital and blended learning trends.
