About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Life Science Underwriter or Casualty Underwriter to join our dynamic and nationally recognised team. As a key member of our underwriting department, you will play a crucial role in assessing, evaluating, and underwriting a diverse portfolio of life science risks. Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal life science business within established guidelines.
Analyse risk factors, financial statements, and other relevant data to determine appropriate coverage and pricing.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders to facilitate business growth and retention.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide tailored insurance solutions and risk management advice.
Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to ensure informed underwriting decisions.
Contribute to the development and implementation of underwriting strategies and best practices.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an underwriter, preferably within the life sciences sector.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex risks and make sound underwriting decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and internal teams.
Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management abilities.
Proficiency in using underwriting software and tools.
A degree in a related field such as life sciences, finance, or business is preferred.
