In this role you will lead our brilliant Community Housing, Community Safety and Neighbourhoods teams. In this role you will be accountable for ensuring that services meet our legal and regulatory responsibilities, achieve key performance indicators, drive continuous improvement, deliver key strategic priorities and ensure effective collaboration across the organisation and externally with partners to achieve our aims and objectives.

Main job responsibilities:

Be an effective senior leader within the Housing Directorate; support the Director of Housing and Customer Services and work closely with the Assistant Director of Housing - Customer to ensure services are aligned and challenges are dealt with quickly and appropriately.

Lead and be accountable for continuously improving the strategic approach to Community Housing, Community Safety and Neighbourhoods.

Lead and be accountable for ensuring that the key principles of the Community Housing Model are embedded and delivered; use robust data analysis to proactively identify where the model might not be being delivered as intended and act promptly to remedy.

To lead and support the implementation of key strategic business change initiatives, such as Customer First. Use data to effectively oversee and manage the change.

Ensure resources are managed effectively; flex resources between and within teams where appropriate and in response to emerging priorities. Be able to demonstrate through the use of data the effectiveness of all areas of operation

Be accountable for meeting all targets and continually drive improvements; be alert to changing external factors which could impact adversely on our ability to meet our targets and proactively plan our response to these threats.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • A qualification to degree level and experience of managing a housing team at a senior level.
  • Level 5 certificate in Housing
  • Knowledge of Statutory and Regulatory requirements, relevant to housing management.
  • A proven track record of delivering value for money, delivering cost reductions whilst improving service delivery.
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully implementing change and efficiency programmes in the housing arena.
  • Experience of developing strategies and policies.
  • Proven leadership skills that get the best out of colleagues.
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively.
  • Strong influencing, advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Self-awareness, empathy, respect and integrity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
