Temporary Accommodation Officer
Temporary (3 Months) Full Time
£16.90 per hour
Location: Basildon, Essex
A local council are hiring a Temporary Accommodations Officer to join the housing team. You will be responsible for managing temporary accommodation ensuring appropriate allocation.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the placement of homeless clients into interim accommodation
- Ongoing case management
- Find and inspect bed and breakfasts to be used for emergency shelter - ensuring compliant (Gas & Electric Safety Certificates and Public Liability)
- Negotiate costs for interim accommodation for the council
- Risk assessments
- Support clients with the moving process
- Referral of accepted homeless clients for allocation (S193)
- Investigate and put together safe guarding reports
- Organise collection of managed tenants rents
- Liaise with other departments to ensure housing solutions
- Recommend court case action when breaches occur
- Ad-hoc duties
Your experience:
- Experience within housing
- Knowledge of the housing act 1996
