About the Role:

As ASHP Technical Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the air source heat pump (ASHP) department. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing ASHP projects across the service areas.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for the operations team and clients.
  • Supervising surveys and heat loss designs conducted by the Surveyor and Design teams.
  • Ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery of heat pump installation projects.
  • Organizing training programs with senior management in the Installations department.
  • Coordinating work-in-progress checks, post-installation inspections, and desk-top audits to maintain quality.
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with industry standards and company accreditations.
  • Reporting to the senior management team on key performance indicators (KPIs) and targets.
  • Collaborating with Installations Managers to recruit and develop our heat pump delivery team.

Experience and Competence:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Proven experience in air source heat pump design and installation.
  • Formal or manufacturer heat pump training credentials.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated commercial awareness, including financial and contract management.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of liaising with employees at all levels, as well as customers and clients.
  • Gas safe registration and experience would be beneficial.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS certification would be advantageous.
  • Experience using CRM and tablet-based job management software, preferably JobLogic.
  • Previous experience in installation management for funded schemes such as ECO is advantageous.
