My client, a global business services group, is looking for a Category Manager to join their procurement team. This is a permanent role and can be done on a mostly remote basis, with only occasional trips to the office.
This role will focus on professional and financial services category management, and will be pivotal in driving efficiency and boosting the organisation's commercial competitiveness across the UK and Ireland.
Additionally, this role will focus on identifying and increasing the use of preferred suppliers, streamlining the supply chain within the relevant categories. This incoming candidate will need to be able to challenge (where appropriate) and innovate and develop strategies that align with the company's sustainability objectives and ultimately seek to drive commercial improvements.

Role focus
- Craft and execute sourcing strategies that enhance our commercial performance while ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
- Collaborate with global supply management teams to ensure smooth integration and alignment across regions.
- Support the company's leadership in sustainability through responsible sourcing practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers
- Independently manage assigned categories, fostering strong relationships with supply relationship management and deployment teams.
- Ensure effective alignment and onboarding of key stakeholders within the Service Operations platform.
- Generate savings and boost revenues by optimizing agreements and aligning with global contracts.
- Negotiate regional agreements to secure the best net prices and enhance commercial terms.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with the regional supplier network to bolster the company's image and credibility, and identify technological advancements and innovations.
- Collaborate with Supply Management Finance to ensure robust reporting and measurement of Global Supply Management performance.
Required Experience
- Experience in Buying/Category Management with a proven record in contract negotiation.
- Ability to operate effectively in a multi-cultural and matrix environment.
- Strong verbal and written presentation skills.
- Team player with exceptional communication and influencing abilities.
- Financial acumen and results-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
- Proven indirect experience, including services procurement and indirect categories such as recruitment, consulting, audit services, payments, financial services, or temporary labour
- Experience in multi-site procurement across diverse sectors, for example:Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, Public Sector, Corporate Services
