Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child's education? At Tradewind we are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with ADHD in a Year 6 classroom at a well-regarded school in Islington.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 6 student with ADHD, helping them to stay focused, engaged, and on task.
  • Assist with the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and strategies to support the child's learning and behavioural needs.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor the child's progress and adjust support as necessary.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment to help the child reach their full potential.
  • Support the student during both classroom activities and unstructured times, such as breaks and lunchtimes.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant, specifically with children who have ADHD, is essential.
  • Training: Preferably, candidates will have completed training in ADHD support and behaviour management strategies.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Commitment: A genuine passion for helping children with special educational needs and the ability to commit to the role for the full academic year.
