I'm working with a leading mutual insurance company, who are looking for a Project Manager to join their internal IT team. As a mutual they are owned by their policyholders which means they have a long term view rather than just looking for short-term profits. They have a global presence and they insure across 50 countries, providing cover for various liabilities.
Their tech team works on a hybrid basis out of their offices in central London near Liverpool Street Station.
As and IT Project Manager responsibilities include successful project delivery within budget, quality, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage IT projects of varying complexity from inception to transition to BAU.
- Identify and address project delivery risks and issues.
- Generate project management documentation per the project framework.
- Develop detailed project plans and resource estimates with the IT team.
- Provide guidance, support, and intervention as needed.
- Empower and inspire project resources for successful outcomes.
- Oversee technical resources for timely project delivery.
- Coordinate with 3rd party suppliers for project success.
- Collaborate effectively with IT teams and business stakeholders.

Essential Skills:
- Must have experience in Insurance, Financial Services Sectors or similar
- Proven track record in managing IT projects across diverse technology functions.
- Expertise in project management methodologies and techniques.
- Proactive in anticipating and addressing potential IT project issues.
- Capable of driving effective organizational change.
- Skilled in liaising with IT suppliers and understanding IT functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with stakeholder interaction abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, adaptable to changing project requirements.
Desirable Skills:
- Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) preferred.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and continuous improvement techniques.
- Knowledge of software testing and delivery processes.
- Proficiency in tools like JIRA, Kanban, and Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of IT governance standards such as COBIT and ITIL4.
This is a hybrid role with 2 days a week in the office required
