Toolroom Machinist / Near Ash / Up to £22 per hour
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering firm based near Ash, looking to expand their team with a skilled Toolroom Machinist. If you have a passion for precision engineering and hands-on experience with machining tools, this role offers an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team in a high-quality manufacturing environment.
Toolroom Machinist Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain toolroom machinery including lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
- Manufacture, modify, and repair a range of tools and precision components to meet production requirements.
- Work from detailed technical drawings to produce high-standard machined parts.
- Perform quality checks to ensure all work meets the required specifications.
- Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
Toolroom Machinist Skillset:
- Proven experience in toolroom machining, with expertise in operating both manual and CNC machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- A strong understanding of materials, machining techniques, and tolerances.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- NVQ, C&G, or equivalent qualification in a related discipline would be advantageous.
Salary & Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rate of up to £22 per hour, based on experience.
- 39-hour workweek with overtime available at enhanced rates (1.3x and 1.5x).
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
