The Role in Brief
The Inventory Controller reports to the General Manager, and the main purpose of the role is to effectively contribute to the work of the business, ensuring that site services are maintained and improved.
You will be responsible for monitoring the stock holding up area and holding chillers/freezers and ensuring that quality, sufficient shelf life, and stock levels are met by effectively liaising with all relevant parties in a policing capacity.
Core working hours: Monday to Friday, 06:00 - 15:00, and one Saturday in two - 07:00 - 12:00; however, this Inventory Controller role will demand a flexible approach to deliver the needs of the business.
We require someone with a friendly personality and the ability to develop good working relationships across the business.
Main responsibilities
- Rotate stock within the Order Make-Up area, including cooked meats and picking freezer.
- Ensure all products have specific locations and that the location process is functioning correctly and accurately within the department, raising and resolving any issues relating to locations with the SI team.
- Check product shelf life and stock levels to ensure sufficient amounts of stock are available at all times.
- Use the SI portal to amend product quantities and adjust product shelf life where necessary.
- Set up product relationships for raw materials and finished products to ensure Order Make Up team members can scan products without issues.
- Deal with any issues relating to the product set-up and correct those issues as and when required.
- Ensure raw materials have correct labelling and traceability for all products in the OMU area is maintained at all times.
- Where any product non-conformances are raised, liaise with the Technical and Procurement departments to ensure all issues are dealt with promptly.
- Assist with any other tasks requested by the manager.

Essential Skills
- Good verbal & written communication skills and computer literacy.
- Team contribution and motivational skills.
- Understanding of ERP system (locations, product set-up, and Telnet scanning).
- The ability to develop good working relationships with managers in other areas of the business to deliver the common goals of the business in terms of profitability and provision of agreed service levels to customers.
- Willingness to embrace change and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
Desirable Skills
A background in fresh, chilled meat/poultry is preferable but not essential.
