Role Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Security Officer to join our passionate and driven Security team based at our client's site in Buchanan Bus Station.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide an efficient and effective Security Service for our customers, ensuring high standards are delivered and maintained.
  • Ensure the effective monitoring of visitors, staff and contractors on-site, working as part of an effective team to deliver excellent customer service.
  • The candidate must perform the role within Health and Safety regulations and be responsible for their own health and safety as well as colleagues.
  • Operate all systems within the Security Control Room in line with Security Operational Procedures, undertaking routine verification checks to confirm functionality and utilising various electronic systems to log faults, complete incident reports, control access etc.
  • Be capable of leading, instructing and undertaking full incident management.
  • Patrolling and inspecting key site areas throughout shift, as per site procedures.
  • Complete X Ray provision of all belongings as required
  • Undertake routine patrols and CCTV monitoring to ensure all relevant policies and procedures are implemented across the campus. This includes, but is not limited to, Parking Policy and effective traffic management, Health and Safety Policy, Fire Policy, etc.
  • Through active operation and monitoring of all control room systems and undertaking of patrols, provide a crime prevention service, identifying possible hazards and weakness and reporting these to the Client.
  • Control the issue, retention and receipt of all keys and radios ensuring adherence to Security Operational Procedures and maintain a key holding service for accommodation.
  • Support the visitors to the SPT Bus Station 24/7 by providing a customer centred approach.
  • Be conversant and capable of operating in line with security strategies, policy and procedures, offering best practice examples where reasonable to improve service levels.
  • Liaise with Emergency Services as required to support on site incidents and carrying out first line investigations as required.
  • Provide customer focused support as requested by Client
  • Undertake any other appropriate duties to fulfil the job objectives as directed by the Client or Manager

About You:

  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK
  • SIA License is essential.
  • CCTV License is advantageous or prepared to be trained
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Communication skills in this role are key: you must be an effective communicator both verbal and written.
  • High levels of professional Integrity.
  • Previous experience with two-way radios & telephone equipment essential.
  • Dealing with members of the public and working within a customer-focused environment is essential.
  • First aid trained desirable
