Reed Education is on the lookout for a Cover Supervisor to be part of our energetic network of educational professionals. This role is suited for individuals who are passionate about secondary education and are looking for an opportunity to oversee classroom activities and maintain a productive learning environment in the absence of the regular teaching staff.
Role Overview:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will take on the responsibility of managing classrooms, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set by an absent teacher. Your role is crucial in allowing students to continue their learning without interruption and maintaining high standards of discipline and engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage classrooms during the short-term absence of teachers across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Ensure that pre-set work is completed by students to a high standard.
- Adapt to varying subjects and classrooms, providing a stable and continuing presence for students.
- Manage student behavior and maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.
- Collect completed work after the lesson and pass on any relevant information to the regular teacher.
- Assist in other educational activities as required by the school management.
Requirements:
- A degree in a relevant field is advantageous.
- Strong interest in education and the ability to manage classroom activities effectively.
- Good understanding of classroom practices and the education system.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to command respect and authority in a classroom setting.
