Logistics and Production Planning Assistant- The Role:

This is a role that includes supporting several logistics activities including stores, stock control, buying and planning in line with short and long-term business goals. The role also includes cooperating with internal departments to make sure correct information is available for production and budgeting on a regular basis.

Logistics and Production Planning Assistant- Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the logistics activities:

  • Your primary responsibility in this role will be to support the logistics activities
  • Work closely with stores personnel to verify stock levels against stock control system and make sure delivered products are processed in timely manner to required standards
  • Deliver all required material to production lines
  • Review and manage stock levels to match the company's usage for relevant warehouses
  • Review sources and pricing to offer best value for the business for consumable warehouse
  • Maintain relevant reports and keep them up to date

You will also be required to assist the Materials Manager as directed, with planning and other admin related matters. Such as:

  • Liaising with the sales department to communicate information on order book and lead times
  • Assist in reporting on key performance indicators
  • Support in maintaining the company MRP/ERP system and relevant TM specifications
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards
  • Any other ad hoc duties as necessary to the business, which may include covering for holiday and sickness absence

Logistics and Production Planning Assistant- You:

Required:

  • Minimum GCSEs English & Maths
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
  • Knowledge and understanding of company systems e.g. MRP/ERP
  • Accuracy in data management and reporting
  • Fully PC literate, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, as a minimum)
  • Numerate and literate
  • Methodical and good attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a fast paced manufacturing / warehouse environment
  • Experience of working with company systems (MRP/ ERPetc.)
  • Experience in the field of purchasing activities with relation to Cost, Delivery and QualityLogistics and Production Planning Assistant- Benefits:
