Zest Education are currently collaborating with a school in Harborne to recruit a dynamic and hard-working Year 6 Teacher. This role is part-time, working two days a week in a lovely Year 6 Class and can start in January 2025 This position is on-going till the end of the term.

This friendly school believes that every student at this school is valued, and they strive to give everybody the very best they can. They inspire the children to be good students and responsible citizens and provide them with a range of opportunities for their academic and personal development. As the students approach their transition to secondary school, you will need to be able to encourage and uplift them. You have to provide children with engaging, innovative lessons so they may excel academically.

As a Year 6 Teacher, you will be required to:

  • Create and present lessons that are interesting and dynamic, adhering to the national curriculum and the school's educational approach.
  • Encourage students to be self-assured and independent learners.
  • Establish and oversee an inviting and encouraging environment.
  • Mark work and keep track of homework, offering helpful criticism and establishing goals for future development.
  • Create effective working relationships and communicate with parents, leaders, and governing bodies.
  • In accordance with the policies and procedures of the school, set high standards for behaviour and academic performance.
  • Help with SAT preparation and motivate the students to achieve.

You must have:

  • You must hold a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have a strong knowledge of the National Curriculum.
  • Experience working within a relevant educational setting and age group is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and listening.
  • Capacity to function well and cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Have a genuine desire to help children thrive and reach their goals.
  • An enhanced DBS or the willingness to obtain one.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
