Retail Manager

Summary

As a Retail Manager, you'll play an important part in helping people enjoy their day. You'll be generating crucial funds to invest in protecting and caring for places, so people and nature can thrive. Hours: Working 37.5 hours per week, with a usual working pattern of 9am-5.30pm. You'll be required to work weekends as part of your role.

Salary: £23,868 per annum

Duration: Permanent

What it's like to work here

Reporting to the Area Manager, you'll be leading a small team of three and over 20 retail volunteers. You'll be part of the leadership team at Oxburgh Estate, and will work closely with the General Manager and the wider team, actively involved in making decisions that affect the whole place.

What you'll be doing

Your focus every day will be on your customers: going out of your way to make sure they're having their best possible day. You'll lead your team from the front, encouraging them to speak to people and listen to what they want. You'll also to inspire them, so that everyone who buys something knows just what a difference their contribution, will make to the work of the Trust in protecting nature, beauty and history. You'll set stretching targets for the team, and work together to achieve these through the highest standards of customer service and presentation of retail products.

Who we're looking for We'd love to hear from you, if you're:

  • an experienced retail manager, familiar with standard processes (including selling, merchandising, space management, stock control, risk)
  • skilled in coaching, developing and leading teams
  • experienced in managing rotas and recruiting staff
  • adept at getting maximum sales out of a retail outlet
