Role Overview:
As a Power BI Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. You will work closely with various departments to understand their reporting needs and deliver insightful data visualisations and dashboards. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience as a Power BI Developer within a professional services environment, such as legal, accounting, or audit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of data presented in reports and dashboards.
- Optimise Power BI solutions for performance and usability.
- Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI tools and features.
- Work with the IT team to integrate Power BI with other systems and data sources.
- Perform data analysis to identify trends and insights that support business decision-making.
- Maintain documentation for BI solutions, including data models, processes, and user guides.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Power BI Developer in a professional services environment (legal, accounting, audit, or similar).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including DAX and Power Query.
- Experience with SQL and data modelling.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView).
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of data governance and regulatory compliance in a professional services context.
- Understanding of Azure services, particularly Azure Data Factory and Azure SQL Database.
