Behaviour Mentor for Reception Class - 1:1 Support

Reeson Education is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Behaviour Mentor to provide 1:1 support to a Reception pupil at a vibrant primary school in the Borough of Ealing. This role focuses on helping a young child with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASD) who requires consistent guidance and support to manage their behaviour and navigate the school environment.
Role Overview:
- Focused Support: As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with a Reception pupil, offering tailored support to help them manage their behaviour and engage positively with their learning.
- Personalised Guidance: The pupil has specific behavioural needs, requiring a patient and proactive approach to ensure they feel secure and supported throughout the school day.
- Collaborative Effort: You will collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to develop strategies that promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent 1:1 behavioural support during classroom activities, transitions, and playtime.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to help the pupil navigate social and academic challenges.
- Work closely with school staff to monitor progress and adjust support as needed.
- Foster a calm and structured environment that encourages positive behaviour and learning.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Behaviour Mentor or in a similar role supporting children with ASD or behavioural needs.
- A patient and understanding approach with the ability to provide clear and consistent guidance.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build a trusting relationship with the pupil.
- A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one through Reeson Education.
