gap technical are proud to be representing a market leading manufacturing business in their search for Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work at their facility based in Deeside. The work will involve the Mechanical Strip out, dismantling, removing, and decommissioning equipment used in food manufacturing processes. This role involves working with various machinery and systems to safely and efficiently disassemble production lines while ensuring that all procedures adhere to health and safety standards.
Performance Objectives
- Dismantling Equipment: Systematically disassemble machinery, conveyors, and other equipment in food production lines, ensuring all components are properly removed.
- Decommissioning: Safely decommission machinery, following protocols to prevent contamination or damage to other operational areas.
- Site Preparation: Prepare the site for strip out activities, including isolating machinery from electrical, water, and other utility services.
- Tool Operation: Utilize a range of hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment to facilitate the strip-out process.
- Waste Management: Segregate, store, and dispose of materials and waste in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain records of removed equipment, parts, and materials, ensuring traceability and accountability.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe working practices
Person Specification
- The successful candidate will ideally of completed a Timeserved engineering apprenticeship
- A background in FMCG/Packaging Manufacturing will be a distinct advantage however not a prerequisite.
- Experience of Stripping out Food Production Equipment
- You must be an excellent communicator and be able to plan and organise efficiently.
