Newstaff are looking to recruit a Deputy Front of House Hotel Manager for our client based in Berkhamsted, HP4.

Hours: Any 5 days out of 7, 40 hours per week

Salary: £30,000 + benefits

About the Opportunity:

We are looking for someone with strong operational experience and amazing people leadership skills to join their Front of House team as Deputy Front of House Manager. This role will report directly to the Front of House Manager. You will assist in managing the team of Receptionists and Venue Services colleagues and ensure the departments are operationally efficient.

As Deputy Front of House Manager, you will ensure the standards are always met and that guests receive the best experience. Reception is the first point of contact when a guest arrives at the venue, and it must be organised with a guest-centric attitude. Venue Services team perform the set-up and turnaround of conference and function spaces across the site, manage portering, and assist guests wherever necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the Venues and Reception team are aligned, and communication is clear across all platforms
  • Manage both day and night teams to perform to a high standard
  • Assist in the day to day running of both reception, and venues when required
  • Assist in rota management, with the business needs in mind to ensure all tasks are completed in good time
  • Maintain a friendly, welcoming environment for customers, employees and candidates.
  • Assist in stock management
  • Report any structural, cosmetic, or IT related issues
  • Assist in managing Health & Safety within the department and report all incidents
  • Stay on top of security requirements, including the management of keys that the teams are responsible for
  • Provide training to new employees and maintain training records
  • Perform admin requirements for all teams; such as printing and proof-reading function sheets

Candidate Profile:

  • Willingness to adopt a flexible and adaptable approach to the day-to-day workload
  • Customer focused, leader, good communication skills, operationally flexible and a problem solver
  • Experience in hospitality-based management
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Opera or similar systems, with experience in performing reception duties and/or hosting
  • Hands on approach with a can-do attitude, leading the team from the front
