IT Network Engineer

Our client is seeking an IT Network Engineer to assist them in maintaining, improving and expanding the IT services offered to the business. This will include troubleshooting infrastructure problems, identifying areas of improvement and delivering projects.

The company is a fast-growing global company that specialises in responsibly sourced and sustainably managed forest resources. They are looking to recruiting for multiple positions as some large projects get underway and headcount continues to expand.

The Role:

This is a varied role with exposure to a broad range of technology including virtualisation, networking, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 / Entra and both public and private cloud instances. The position would be well suited to a candidate looking to take the next steps in their career from dealing with L2 support issues, into handling more technical 3rd line and infrastructure problems.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide multi-level technical support.
  • Support the teams' technology services.
  • Deploy and maintain end-user devices.
  • Manage Microsoft network services and Office 365.
  • Maintain network hardware (Dell, Cisco, Meraki).
  • Manage Palo Alto Firewalls and VMware infrastructure.
  • Oversee Cloud VoIP systems and network security monitoring.
  • Document cases in the ticketing system.
  • Escalate issues to maintain IT service levels.
  • Adhere to SOX compliance.
  • Lead IT projects and support team collaboration.
  • Conduct routine IT operations.
  • Participate in on-call rotations (1 week every 8)

Desired Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Server/Desktop OS and domain management (AD, DNS).
  • Skilled in Microsoft Entra and Office 365 administration.
  • Experienced with Cisco/Dell switches and routers.
  • Knowledgeable in VMware, with VxRail being a plus.
  • Capable of managing firewalls, Palo Alto preferred.
  • Adept at troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks, Meraki preferred.
  • Familiar with iOS and Android mobile platforms.
  • Open to learning industry-specific applications.
  • Possesses excellent communication and strong teamwork abilities.

  • Ability to travel periodically, if required
  • Willingness to take ownership of an issue or project and see it through to completion
