Data Analyst Apprentice

Overview:

To support and assist the Safety Intelligence team to source, format and present data in a relevant way. This would be achieved by conducting data analysis using a variety of analytical methods; communicating outcomes in an appropriate way to various internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Source data from existing data sources and identify new credible and relevant data sources
  • Collate, format and process data to facilitate further processing and advanced analysis by others by producing tables, charts, graphs for review and analysis
  • Combining data from various sources and formats, to explore its relevance for business needs using analytical blending methods
  • Analyse data with different levels of structure and complexity to support business outcomes
  • Ensure accuracy of analysis by validating results
  • Work with colleagues to understand the purpose and related process of different data requests to ensure requirements are fulfilled

Required skills:

  • Proven interest in data analysis (this could be from formal studies, self-study or the workplace)
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Competency with Microsoft office applications
  • Awareness and understanding of data visualisation techniques
  • Detail-oriented and strong attention to accuracy
  • Willing to qualify to Data Analyst Level 4 standard

Entry requirements:

Standard entry:

  • Level 3 qualification (apprenticeship/A-levels/BTEC, etc)
  • OR equivalent work experience (typically two years in a relevant role)

Plus:

  • 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above
  • Experience with using Excel and Microsoft products (or similar)

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
