Senior Process Engineer

Elevation's technical division are working with a globally recognised specialist in the medical sector on a career defining Senior Manufacturing Engineer position based in Leeds.

This role will help lead and develop a wide range of engineering activities cross functionally working closely with engineering leadership to optimise manufacturing processes.

Senior Manufacturing Engineer Job Responsibilities:

- Analysis of manufacturing KPI's and the development of continuous improvement projects to drive throughput and yield improvements
- Work cross functionally with engineering, production and others to optimise processes.
- Undertake root cause analysis to identify opportunities to optimize/improve manufacturing processes including using continuous improvement engineering methods (e.g., SIX Sigma and LEAN methods).
- Develop tooling, assembly jigs and fixtures, employing technical design skills in support of operational activities, including test method validation
- Support the analysis and resolution of complex manufacturing and compliance issues with the wider team
- Provide technical engineering support for the design transfer and production of product ranges and support investigation into new technology
- Lead manufacturing support tasks; give guidance to engineers/ technicians on conducting tests; train engineers/ technicians and provide feedback; and coordinate engineer/ technician work where appropriate.
- Train, coach, and mentor lower-level employees on more complex procedures.
- Lead and establish complex project plans to ensure deliverables are completed to customer's expectations, using project management tools (e.g., Project plan, risk analysis, etc.).

Manufacturing Engineer Education and Experience:

- A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Technical / Medical (or equivalent engineering degree) would be desirable. HNC or time served also considered.

  • Ideally a minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing (preferably medical or highly regulated manufacturing)
  • Knowledge of equipment qualification and design verification, process validation would be beneficial
  • Project management certification.
  • Six sigma green belt (or higher) and/or lean manufacturing certification.
