Job Summary:

As a Planner, you will play a pivotal role in the planning and delivery of residential development projects. You will manage the planning process, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and that projects are delivered on time and within budget. This position demands a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of planning law, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Planning Application Management:
  • Prepare, submit, and manage planning applications for residential development projects.

  • Liaise with local authorities, consultants, and internal teams to ensure applications meet all requirements and are processed efficiently.

  1. Project Coordination:
  • Collaborate with land acquisition, design, engineering, and construction teams to ensure seamless project delivery.

  • Assist in the preparation of project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

  1. Compliance and Regulation:
  • Ensure all projects comply with local, regional, and national planning policies and regulations.

  • Keep up to date with changes in planning legislation and policy.

  1. Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, community groups, and other key stakeholders.

  • Represent our client at public meetings, planning committees, and community consultations.

  1. Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare detailed reports, statements, and presentations related to planning applications and project progress.

  • Maintain accurate records of planning applications, decisions, and conditions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RTPI) is desirable.
  • Proven experience in a planning role, preferably within the residential development sector.
  • Strong knowledge of UK planning law, regulations, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., MS Office, planning application systems).
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
